With its completely new decor Pizzeria "Le Pourquoi Pas ?" invites you to drop anchor in the Avant Port of Cap d’Agde to discover or rediscover our Mediterranean hospitality.
"Le Pourquoi-Pas ?" has several specialities which have made its reputation : pierrades – cooked by you on a hot stone, foccacia bread, Italian antipasti, salads, pizzas, pastas, wholewheat pancakes, not forgetting, for dessert, great crêpes and gorgeous ice cream sundaes.

"Le Pourquoi Pas?" is open:
Mornings from 10am to 3pm
Evenings from 6pm to midnight
Closed Tuesdays outside school holidays.

Our pizzeria bears the name "Le Pourquoi pas ?" in honour of Commandant Jean-Baptiste Charcot (1867-1936), doctor and polar explorer.
"Le Pourquoi Pas ?" was the name of one of the most famous French polar exploration vessels.

Pizzeria "Le Pourquoi Pas" can be found at the Avant Port of Cap d'Agde. On the « Grande Conque » beach, there were already bathers at the beginning of the 20th century whilst from the 1920s brought to life to this corner of Cap d’Agde which consisted at that time only of salt pans and vines!
This is the oldest beach in the Cap, where only the locals ventured out onto the black rocks which prove that the Auvergne volcanos stretched even as far as this part of the Mediterranean coastline. The solidified lava still marks the landscape today. Now the vines have disappeared to make way for tourist facilities: an orientation table for diving has been installed at the foot of the cliffs, along which can be found a highly original underwater « path ». Among the facilities we should not forget the Aquarium.
It should also be noted that even today there are fishermen present, as there are twenty or so small boats which go out in search of a catch every day, and larger vessels drop in from time to time. In this part of town you can also find the Yacht Club of Cap d’Agde and the main Harbourmaster’s offices. Compared to other parts of the Cap, the promontory of the Ile des Pecheurs, the Grande Conque and the cliffs of the Avant Port constitute a unique haven where the mix of accents prove, if proof were needed, that there are not only holidaymakers here!
